January - February - March - April - May - June - July - August - September - October - November - December
My favorite month (and not just because my birthday is October 22) there's just something about October that speaks to my soul. Leaves are turning, apples are being picked, pumpkins are in season.. Or maybe it's just the hot mulled cider!
October Home Organization Project: Shoes, Boots & Closets
The last time we did a closet, shoe and boot project was May, and now we'll reverse the process (after decluttering, of course) by storing summer clothes and shoes and organizing fall and winter wear. Begin moving lighter fabrics into storage and locate your winter gear like knee-high boots, scarves, hats and clothes. If you stored clothing with your dry cleaner in the Spring (I store my winter wool coats), pick it/them up now.

Get Organized in October Checklist:
___ Take your cold-weather clothes out of storage. (See: How to Organize Your Closet) ___ Store your summer clothes including swim suits and beach towels. (See How to Maximize Storage Spaces for tips and peruse my picks for the Best Plastic Storage Containers.) ___ Stock up for Halloween by purchasing candy, cards, costumes and costume accouterments. ___ If you are traveling in December, make sure you're booking your trip now. (See: Super-Organized Travel Tips) ___ Start thinking about Thanksgiving. Are you hosting and need to send invitations or navigate any sticky inter-familial issues? Are you traveling? Time to firm up travel plans. (See: Get Organized for the Holidays) ___ Over-achievers should begin editing their holiday card list. As always, I recommend sending a Halloween card in October or a Thanksgiving card in November rather than waiting until December when you'll be much busier and undoubtedly more stressed.Gifts to Buy / Cards to Send
