Tackling simple organizing tasks during the week will allow for more free time over the weekend. Adopting any of these 8 easy organizing tasks is a great way to start getting organized in the new year.

Make Lunch the Night Before:
If you take lunch to work or make lunch for your family, it will save you time in the morning if you make it the night before.

Empty Out Your Wallet at the End of the Day:
Emptying out receipts and miscellaneous papers from your wallet at the end of the day will save you time when you are reconciling your bank account.

Review Your Bank Account:
Review your bank account at the beginning and end of the week to verify that deposits, withdrawals and general account activity reconcile. This will also help keep you alert to any discrepancies.

Select Clothing the Night Before:
Although this task may make you feel like a child again, our parents had the right idea when they placed our clothing out the night before. It is a great time-saver in the mornings.

Designate Laundry Night:
Designating laundry night for one week night per week is a great way to save up your weekends. Also, by doing your laundry regularly, it will help save you time instead of trying to do 2-3 weeks worth of laundry all at once.

Avoid Dishes Piling Up:
Wash dishes as needed, rather than letting them pile up. It will take double, if not triple the amount of time if you let them pile up. Also, make sure you empty the dishwasher or put away dishes from the drying station as soon as they are ready. This will help avoid the temptation to leave dirty dishes.

Organize Mail Upon Receipt:
Quickly scan through the mail upon receipt. Immediately weed out unsolicited mail and toss it in the recycling bin. Make sure before you toss that you rip or shred any mail that has personal information on it.

Review Daily Planner Before Bedtime:
It’s important to review the next day's events and jot down any to do’s that may be missing. Don’t concentrate too long on it, because you will want to rest your mind prior to sleeping, but it is a good idea to be aware of the next day’s events.
