Although organizational supplies can be very affordable, it is more affordable to utilize your existing furniture for your organizational needs.
In order to accomplish this, we must think outside the box and not be so insistent on using particular furniture pieces strictly for its intended use:

  • An Armoire: Utilize the shelves or drawers for toiletries, cleaning supplies, linens, movies, music, books, stationary, office supplies, exercise equipment, photo albums, jewelry box, perfume/cologne or displaying precious mementos.
  • A Nightstand: Utilize the drawers or shelves for your computer (laptop can fit in a decent sized drawer), books, financial or personal documents, checkbook, receipts, planner or camera.
  • Your Bedroom Closet: Use the floor in your bedroom closet for something other than throwing your clothes in a pile (Yes! you know you have been guilty of this at some point). Keep a file box on the floor filled with your important documents. It will help to keep your personal files private, and all in one place.
  • Chests : While a chest can be used for most anything, how about storing extra bathroom supplies? Sometimes our homes don't have the proper linen closet storage, and a chest would be the perfect alternative.
The possibilities are truly endless. The key is to determine what you need storage for, and where you can utilize storage in your existing space, with your existing furniture.
