Beef Tacos - an essential for a Cinco De Mayo party

If you're looking for quick tips for a slacker non-authentic Cinco De Mayo party that would make gourmands everywhere cringe, you've come to the right place. This is a party planning for the slacker host in us all: nothing is made-from-scratch and nothing requires entensive clean-up.
Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: 1 Hour

Here's How:

  1. FOOD:
Nothing authentic about it: buy some taco kits. In addition you'll need ground beef or turkey, peppers or mushroomss as taco filling for the non-meat eaters, grated chees, sour cream, canned re-fried beans, lettuce, tomatoes, (bagged and pre-chopped, of course), and hot sauce.

To kick it up a notch, add some rice.

  2. DRINKS:
    Tequila, Corona and margarita mix.

Make sure you have ice on hand, a blender, and some sodas for the non-drinkers.

In addition to drinks, no slacker party is complete without Solo Cups--the king of slacker entertaining for decades.

  3. DECOR:
Piñatas, naturally! You can buy a reltaively inexpensive but still authentic-looking piñatas from Urban Outfitters.

Drape a table cloth over your serving table (or desk, in my case), place the food in bowls and have your guests make their own tacos.

Don't forget paper plates, napkins and utensils.

  4. MUSIC:
Download some mariachi music from ITunes. Here are some popular songs:

    El rey
    Jalisco
    La Ley Del Monte
    Volver Volver
    Mujeres Divinas
    Me Canse De Rogarle
    Mexico Lindo Y Querido
    Viva Mexico
