Organizing Tip: Organize Storage Spaces by Season

Despite what the "Housewives" series says about current lifestyles, most people do not have huge homes with California Closet-bedecked storage spaces. You need to store items seasonally by ensuring what you're using right now is front-and-center and what you won't touch until next season is in a storage space.

Examples:

• During the winter, your Crockpot may go on a higher shelf in your kitchen cabinet than it does in the summer.
• Bathing suits, sarongs and beach gear should not be taking up valuable closet real estate during the winter.
• If you live in a year-round warm-weather climate, store your snow boots and wool scarves.
