During a girls get together, one of our friends surprised me and two of our other friends with purses from her own closet. She brought over 20+ purses that she loved at one point but no longer had use for them, and she had a difficult time getting rid of them because of the pleasure it once brought her. However, when she knew that we would take great pleasure in her purses, it made it that much easier for her to get rid of them.

You can also do this with clothes, shoes and accessories - belts, hats, scarves, etc. The bonus here is that you are eliminating your clutter, you are giving them to people you know will take pleasure in them and, your friends will most likely return the favor one day with their own stuff.
